We’re looking for an enthusiastic and reliable leader to join our team as a Shift Leader! You’ll keep the team motivated, the store running smoothly, and every customer leaving with a smile.

Key responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Support

  • Set a positive example and coach team members with a respectful, supportive approach.

  • Ensure tasks are divided fairly and rotate staff through all responsibilities.

  • Train staff on menu knowledge and answer questions throughout the shift.

  • Communicate shift status (inventory, staff updates, issues) to the incoming team.

Operations & Store Standards

  • Maintain a clean, organized store and complete checklists required throughout the day.

  • Monitor product quality – ice cream, cones, packaging, and more.

  • Keep the menu board current and manage special orders.

  • Coordinate with tradespeople and relay maintenance updates to management.

  • Uphold all health and safety standards (Vancouver Coastal Health & WorkSafe BC).

Cash Handling & Till

  • Complete closing float and prepare opening float.

  • Restock change as needed.

  • Flag low change levels and notify the manager.

Customer Service

  • Deliver warm, welcoming, and consistent customer experiences.

  • Manage a busy line calmly and efficiently.

  • Ensure scoop size consistency across the team.

  • Guide customers through the menu with confidence and enthusiasm.

Problem Solving & Decision Making

  • Coordinate supply transfers between locations when inventory runs low.

  • Make shift adjustments – push shifts, call team members on or off as needed.

  • Make sound decisions in the Company’s best interest and know when to escalate to management.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in food service or a supervisory role is required.

  • Strong communication skills and a calm, positive presence under pressure.

  • Comfortable with cash handling and till operations.

  • Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented.

  • Strong work ethic.

  • Food Safety certification (preferred).

  • A genuine love for customer service.

  • Availability to work at least 2-4 shifts per week, including weekend (Friday-Sunday) and availability.
